Playing
How do I play?
Tap a hole (or a stand) to start a round. When it finishes you earn cash. Spend it on levels, Marshals, new holes and Park items, then buy the blocks across the street. The goal bar at the top always shows a next step. The How it plays page has the whole path.
What's the best thing to buy next?
Tap Next in the dock (or in a station's panel). It weighs a Marshal, something new to build, a level-up and the Park items against each other and picks what pays back fastest. When something new is only a minute or so away, it tells you to save up for it instead.
What are milestones?
At certain levels a hole or attraction doubles its earnings, and some milestones also pay gems. The panel shows how far away the next one is.
How do I earn while I'm away?
Anything with a Marshal or staff keeps earning while the app is closed, for a few hours (longer with the Workshop's perks or the VIP Pass). You collect it when you come back.
What does the Boost do?
Playing charges the lightning bolt: sending golfers, Rush Hour, buying levels and building all fill it. When it is full, tap it for a burst of extra earnings, with fireworks. Then it starts charging again. Marshals, Watch Mode and time away do not charge it. There's no video to watch.
What's Rush Hour?
A hole with a Marshal can call a Rush Hour for a couple of minutes of extra earnings. Its charges come back over time.
What's a Block Desk?
The one desk at the gate of twenty-three blocks. A coral bubble counts the rides waiting without a Marshal; tap the desk to run them all once, free. The Arcade, Glow Putt and the Food Truck Rally have none.
What are litter, pickpockets and breakdowns?
Now and then guests leave litter, a pickpocket sneaks in, or a ride across the street breaks down. Each lowers the Fun Rating while it's out. Tap it to fix it yourself for a small reward, or hire Janitors, Security and Mechanics in Park, then Staff, to do it for you. None of this happens while you're away.
What's Watch Mode?
Sit back and watch your park: press and hold on empty ground (or use Watch the park in Settings). The buttons slip away and the camera drifts after a guest on the way to a ride, a rolling ball, a critter or the tour bus. Tap anywhere to end it. It only moves the camera, never your park or earnings.
Can I name my Marshals and rides?
Yes. Press and hold a Marshal or a crew member (a janitor, guard or mechanic) in the park, or a ride's name in its panel. A little pencil shows what can be named. The names stay on your device, and your guests use them in what they say.
Putting
What's Putt of the Day?
One hole a day, the same for everyone, that you putt yourself: drag back from the ball and let go. Three shots for hours of your park's earnings. It's the Putt of the Day chip under your cash.
What's the Weekly Open?
Nine holes a week, a new nine every Monday, putted by hand on Putt of the Day's green: one round that counts, kept between sittings. After the ninth hole you get a scorecard, a medal for gems, hours of earnings for finishing and a Game Center score. Its card is at the bottom of Putt of the Day's sheet.
What's Glow Putt?
A blacklight hall between the side streets, past Marble Mania and the Candy Factory, with nine more holes, Glow Hole 1 to Glow Hole 9: neon rails, a loop-the-loop, a glowing windmill and a cup on a low bridge. Each is built, leveled, staffed and played like the course outside, day or night. See the Glow Holes
Towns and collections
When should I Franchise?
When the Stars on offer would add a good chunk to what you have. The game suggests it when it pays off (you can turn that off), and Park, then Franchise, shows the offer any time. Early towns go fast; a new town with more Stars catches up quickly.
What happens to my park when I Franchise?
The park, cash, levels, tickets and Prize Counter prizes start over (Golden Putters bought with gems are refunded in gems). You keep Stars, gems, the Collection Book, event plushies, critter friends, Space souvenirs, the Almanac, Park Awards, Looks, the lost balls you've found and anything bought with real money.
Does each town play differently?
Yes. Each town has its own ups and downs, like Sunny Shores' beach crowds and Snowy Peaks' icy greens. When the towns come round again they add twists. Meet the towns
What are the lost balls?
Five golf balls lie hidden round each town (behind the windmill, under the bridge...), glinting now and then when the camera's near. Tap one for a few gems; find all five and the town hands over a ball trail of its own. Each town keeps its tally through Franchises.
What are critters?
Animals that visit while you're away. Tap one to say hi. Three visits make a friend, with a small bonus.
What are Golden Balls?
Every few minutes a sparkly golden ball appears on the course for a few seconds, with a chime. Tap it for gems (or cash, once today's found gems are used up).
What are Park Awards?
Ten long-run goals (Tycoon, Franchiser, Cup Champion, Collector, Ace of Aces, Critter Pal, Safari Spotter, Harbormaster, Astronaut and Big Boss), each with a Bronze, Silver and Gold. Every award pays gems and adds to everything, for good. A trophy shelf in the Park menu shows the cups you have won.
What's the mystery prize?
The Prize Counter hides one ultra-rare prize. It can't be bought: once you've won a few prizes and the Arcade is open, it can turn up at any minute of play, and it's pure luck.
The Weekly Cup and events
What's the Weekly Cup?
A separate park that's the same for everyone each week, with a twist (Windy Greens, Glow Week...). Earn as much as you can for Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum medals (gems) and a Game Center score. Your home park keeps earning its away pay meanwhile.
What is the Platinum medal?
Platinum is the Weekly Cup's top medal, above Gold. Reach its score in a single week and it pays gems. It's meant to be hard, and the Cup page keeps a case of every medal you've won. VIP and other bonuses never count in the Cup.
What are seasonal events?
Seasonal decorations and things to find round the park, like Spooky Putt and Winter Wonderland, with a plush to win. Fun Tokens from event finds and goals buy an earlier event's plush in Memory Lane.
What are community goals?
Now and then everyone playing Funville works towards one big goal together, like so many hole-in-ones in a week. What you play counts (not in the Weekly Cup), and if everyone gets there by the end, everyone who chipped in gets gems. Its card in Park shows everyone's progress, what you've added and the time left.
Fair play and purchases
Are there ads?
No. Never. The free Boost charges as you play: no video.
Is anything random for money?
No. No loot boxes, no spins, no random paid items. The Prize Counter sells what you see, for tickets you earn. There are no pop-up offers: everything in the Shop is there whenever you want it.
Is the VIP Pass a subscription?
No. The VIP Pass is a one-time purchase, never a subscription. A Welcome Pack and gem packs are optional extras, if you'd like to support the game.
How do I get gems?
The Daily Gift, goals, achievements, Owner Levels, level milestones, hole-in-ones, Golden Balls, lost balls, the Ice Cream Truck, Ace the mascot, critters, event pickups, the Fairground, Park Awards, and medals in the Weekly Cup and the Weekly Open.
I bought something but can't find it
Open the Gem Shop's Store tab and tap Restore Purchases (or Restore under Purchases in Settings). The VIP Pass and the Welcome Pack's Golden Putter come back on any device signed in to the same Apple Account. Gem packs are used up when bought, so they can't be restored.
How do refunds work?
Apple handles them: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, tap Report a Problem and pick the purchase. We can't see purchases or refund them. A refunded VIP Pass switches itself off the next time Funville opens.
Devices and saves
Can I play on my Mac?
Yes, on Apple silicon Macs. Click and drag to move, and use the + and - buttons (or keys) to zoom.
Can I use a controller?
Yes. Left stick moves, right stick turns and tilts, the triggers zoom. A picks whatever is under the ring in the middle (or presses the highlighted button), the D-pad moves between buttons, B goes back, X is Boost, Y is Next and Start opens More. Touch the screen any time to go back to tapping.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, all the time, on this device, and backed up to the cloud when you're signed in (Settings, then Cloud save). On a new device, sign in to Game Center and iCloud and Funville offers the cloud copy if it's further along.
How do I go back to an older save?
Settings, then Older saves, lists your last save and two snapshots kept every few hours. Tap one twice to go back to it. The park you have now is kept as a copy, so nothing is lost.
Why am I getting a reminder?
Funville sends a few gentle reminders: a party or space mission that's done, a full park, your Daily Gift, a new event, a critter visit, the Weekly Cup and the Weekly Open. They come at most one a day, only in the daytime, and you can turn any of them off in Settings. Quiet mode turns them all off at once.
Privacy and the rankings
What does Funville send?
Anonymous error reports and play stats, only if you said yes to "Help improve Funville?"; Settings, then Error reports & play stats, turns them off. The privacy policy has every detail.
How do I leave the rankings?
Open Ranks (the dock button, or the card in Park) and tap Leave the rankings at the bottom, then tap again to confirm. Your park's name and scores come off at once, the Weekly Cup's too. You can join again later. See Leave the rankings and delete your data.
How do I hide or report a park?
On the rankings, tap the little flag on a park's row, then confirm with Hide. You won't see that park again on this device, and nobody is told. A name that isn't kind can be reported with the same flag. See Park names and fair play.
